mountains of Huchuypicchu and Huaynapicchu

number.

Some rules and dangers in the
zone of the local mountains of Huchuypicchu and
Huaynapicchu
The visitors have the task to organize their tour so
they will be back at 3pm. This tour to Huaynapicchu is
partly hard and sportive, and with beach sandals it's
not possible to pass here. For children less than 12
this climb is not advisable. Some parts are dangerous
with a safety rope, but mostly is missing any safety
rope.
Additionally the steps are only made for little native
feet of size 38 (natives here are descendants of Asian
race which is of little shape). Tourists with feet of
over the size of 40 have big difficulties with these
stairs of Huaynapicchu, above all going down the
mountain. The last part the way up is another path
than the way down, thus one makes a "round" around the
top. One has to accustom to put the feet in a side way
on the steps and this is very uncomfortable during the
way down. Additionally almost all steps are made of
several stones put one aside the other. Earthquakes
during 600 years changed their positions thus these
step stones are not all next to each other. This
means: steps are hardly steps any more, and because
Machu Picchu is a world heritage there is no change
with these steps. Thus it's always more uncomfortable
to pass these stairs on these local mountains.
Additionally just during the way down any railing or
safety rope for the stairs are missing. Thus many
tourists are only coming down on all fours. It seems
that the Machu Picchu administration does not see this
problem with the dangerous stairs. On the way down
there is missing any safety measure in this national
park. A walking stick does not help at all.
The last part of the way up is with 2 tunnels. Fat
people cannot pass there because these tunnels are
made for natives of little shape.
For children under 12 years remain the walks around
the mountains which are more or less flat.
In this section of the local mountains there are no
food or beverage stands. All visitors have to take
their things in rucksacks.
There are some guards in the zone. People not coming
back until 3pm not having been canceled from the list
of the guard house will be searched.
It's not allowed to leave garbage or pluck plants or
take stones.
Machu Picchu: the section of the local mountains of
Huchuypicchu and Huaynapicchu, the control house at the
entrance area
On this map (which one cannot
purchase, what a pity) one can see that there are many
more trails but only up to the mountain. There are
walks around the hill with a big cave and some stairs.
People who want to see all this and who want to go up
the hill the same day have to arrive at 8am.
The name: Huaynapicchu - Huayna
Picchu - Waynapicchu etc.
Machu Picchu Administration is writing the word
Huaynapicchu in Quechua way as Waynapicchu (also on
maps and signposts). Peruvian Government is not
defining the way to write this word. CIA-Wikipedia
writes the word as Huayna Picchu (
https://dt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huayna_Picchu).
Height of Huaynapicchu
Machu Picchu is on 2,360m over sea level [web02], the
peak of Huaynapicchu is on 2,667m over sea level
[web01]. Thus the difference of height is 307m, so
this is as if one would have a hard climb to an Eiffel
Tower - and the view is also as it would be from an
Eiffel Tower - be sure!

In the queue there was a flashing T-shirt of the
person before me honoring Mother Earth in English:
Honor the sacred,
Honor the Earth, our Mother etc. etc.

thus Mother Earth Explorers. This is a travel agency

Machu Picchu, way up to local mountain of Huaynapicchu,
a poem of a tourist T-shirt
And now we go:
Partition of the paths just at the beginning
Just at the beginning after about
200m the paths are parting, to the left to the little
local mountain of Huchuypicchu, and to the right to
the big local mountain of Huaynapicchu.
Path and signpost: partition of paths to Huchuypicchu
(small) and Waynapicchu (big)
Huchuypicchu is 2,479m over sea level [web04],
Huaynapicchu is 2,667m over sea level [web01].
It seems strange that this
important signpost is only in English not respecting
any Peruvian, Spanish, Chilean or Columbian or else
Spanish speaking tourist...

Irregular stairs at local
mountain of Huaynapicchu
All stairs here are very irregular, and this is making
the way up enormously difficult. The zone is world
heritage and nothing is permitted to be changes - only
earthquakes may change something here - it's perverse.
Earthquakes during the last 500 years did change the
position of most step stones. Therefore the danger to
wrench a foot is very high and therefore this trail is
very sportive and is nothing for sleepy people - and
it's a unique event, really!

The standard interpretation of this form is an eagle's

always a condor eagle.
